Music Director

The Fort Collins Chapter of ARS is fortunate enough to play under the leadership of our music director, Bruce Lemmon,

Bruce and his wife Jean recently moved “back” to Colorado after (only!) 39 years in Tulsa. They met over Renaissance music in 1973 and performed with the Colorado College Collegium Musicum for seven years (Bruce’s degree from CC was in music history). In Tulsa they became active in the ARS chapter there throughout the 80s and early 90s, leading recorder workshops in Oklahoma, Colorado and Missouri during that time. Twenty-five years ago they co-founded Pro Musica Tulsae, a semi-professional ensemble that began as a trio and expanded over the decades to include 13-15 instrumentalists and vocalists, performing numerous concerts and salon evenings on a regular basis.

Relative newcomers to northern Colorado, they are beginning to play with frequency at First Presbyterian Fort Collins, where they are members. At First Presbyterian Tulsa they were often utilized in special programming covering modern flute parts in orchestras accompanying the chancel choir.

Bruce is delighted to be back planning repertoire and conducting rehearsals once again.
